Information on Donors
To assist you with donor selection, we make the following information available:•Our Donor Catalog lists each Donor’s ethnicity, basic physical characteristics, and Identity-Release® status. The donor catalog is free and posted on our website.
•Each Donor on the catalog hasDonor Profiles that summarize each donor’s medical and family history, and include his short personal narrative. Interested in finding out why a donor chose to donate or why he chose to be an Identity-Release donor® Profiles include the donor’s answers to these and other questions. Profiles are free and posted on our website. You can access donor profiles from the Donor Catalog page.
• Fifteen-to-twenty page medical charts that contain detailed information on the physical characteristics, health habits, personal interests, educational background, and medical history of each donor and members of his immediate biological family. Charts also include the TSBC interviewer’s impressions of the donor’s personality and appearance. Medical charts are available by mail (not by fax or email), or you may schedule a phone or office consultation to review several charts at one time—there is a fee for reviewing or purchasing charts.
• We offer photo matching services for those who would like to select a donor who resembles a specific individual—there is a fee for photo matching. Our counselors will match the photos you submit to photos of our donors; we do not release photos of our donors to you.
• We offer donor baby photos for some donors. There is a fee for these photos but they can be purchased prior to registering. All photos will be mailed.
• Our bank is small enough that we have the opportunity to get to know our donors. Phone counselors can provide you with personal impressions of donors.
• We can let you know how many pregnancies and births have been reported on each donor. Our limit is ten families worldwide for each donor, one of the lowest limits in the US. We make every effort to set aside inventory for clients who wish to have more than one child using the same donor.
• We can let you know the post-thaw sperm count and motility of every vial you purchase.
You don’t need to be a registered recipient to order our donor catalog, profiles, or medical charts. However, you must be a registered recipient to get on donor Notification Lists or to purchase donor sperm samples.
